This locking of the wrist allows for the pendulum motion. A golfer should use the shoulders to move the putter away from and back thru the ball. This motion produces the best of results in both ball roll and ball direction. 2. USE OF THE SHOULDERS The pendulum stroke is a shoulder turning motion. To properly execute the stroke, a golfer must maintain a triangle between the shoulders and the hands. By locking the wrists in place at address and throughout the swing, a golfer can feel, recognize and learn the pendulum motion. 3. PROPER PUTTER-HEAD PATH It is true that the putting stoke is a mini-golf swing. It is not a straight back then straight forward motion. Again, this is an impossible action to teach. Golfers of all levels struggle mightily with this part of putting stroke. What makes this so hard to learn is that in the proper putting stroke putter-head must open on the back-stroke and close on the forward-stroke. How much or how little is the magic question?
